The goal of Public Health Month is to increase North Carolinians’ awareness of the need for public health and its effect on quality of life. Past efforts have focused on explaining public health problems, the public health system’s response, its accomplishments, and its challenges.

Building on National Public Health Week (April 5-11, 2010), local health departments are encouraged to launch activities during N.C. Public Health Month that can be carried out year-round.
