Newborn Screening
Cystic Fibrosis
Beginning April 13, 2009, NCSLPH will begin testing all newborn screening specimens for cystic fibrosis (CF).
Results for this test will not initially be available via the web due to a delay in transition to the new Laboratory Information Management System. The CF result will be displayed on the hard copy report received by submitters and healthcare providers.
When abnormal results for CF are encountered, the health care provider will be promptly contacted by follow-up staff from the Women's and Children's Health Section with additional instructions.
