Workforce Preparedness Committee Charge

1. Review current public health workforce training, technical assistance, professional development and continuing education opportunities and make recommendations for improving the type, number and quality of these opportunities for public health professionals in North Carolina with the aim of strengthening the core competencies and capabilities of the public health workforce.
2. Recommend methods to enhance the diversity of the public health workforce and improve access to public health workforce development and training in undeserved areas.
3. Identify the resources necessary to adequately prepare and sustain a competent public health workforce.
4. Identify legislation and rules necessary to achieve and sustain public health workforce development needs.
5. Identify key partners necessary to achieve and sustain a competent public health workforce.
